There is a season. . .
Wow I promised big things back in March of 2010 and I failed to deliver. Well it is quite amazing that they let these things live on as long as they do. Will there ever be a time when we run out of World Wide Web space because nothing gets erased?
I wanted to talk about the start of the latest NHL season for a second. The Ottawa Senators have found a way to lose most of their games so far and the Maple Leafs have gone undefeated. This is troubling. Yes I know it’s early in the season and things could easily change, but I just enjoy so much seeing the Maple Leafs suffer, I love me some schadenfreude and I am being denied that this year.
Here is another issue I have every NHL season. What is the problem with NHL 11 and giving its customers some definite dates? Why will they not tell people from the beginning what date they can expect the code to unlock the sweaters. The same goes for when a new roster update will be available. Another issue I have is being locked out from changing the numbers on other teams when I am playing a season mode, pro mode or gm mode. To me the numbers mean something so when I see a player identified with a certain number wearing the incorrect number on the only team they have ever played for it troubles me. In figure why can't I just go in and correct it. But that is quite impossible because EA has locked that option in these modes. It’s okay for them to mess with every number ever worn but if I was able to do it there may be some sort of rip in the space time continuum.
Speaking of the space time continuum. I am catching up on some of the later episodes of Futurama. The ones made after it was cancelled the first time. They have been pretty cool.
So I may or may not be a YouTube personality. Apparently I appear in some of the videos of my little brother. I do feel sometimes that people are staring at me on the street like they know who I am and not in a good way. What am I doing in these videos? Of course I do remind people of a lot of people. I am just not that special, I have a common face. The problem first started for me back in 1989 when I started work at McDonald's. That was the first time I heard of Dorrie Barber. I was told that I looked like him. I am sure people didn't say the same about him. The funny thing is that we both ended up going to the same university in Ottawa. I wonder if he has followed me to Calgary as well. Most recently I had some guy walk up to me on the street talking to me like we were great friends and I didn't even realize it was me he was talking to at first. My complaint with this is it is never some young and attractive woman who recognizes me.
Well thank you for joining me for a few random thoughts. Please enjoy the rest of your week.
